What We Believe

We believe in one God who created everything and exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We accept the oneness of God and also believe that there are distinctions between Father, Son and Holy Spirit within the Godhead.

Our knowledge of the true God comes through His revelation in Holy Scriptures comprised of both Old and New Testaments.  The Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit and serves as the primary guide for both faith and practice. Because God speaks to us through His Word, we believe the Scriptures should be regularly studied, guiding us as individuals and as the church.

We believe in God the Father who exists eternally and is loving and forgiving.  Because of this love, He sent His only begotten Son into the world to save us from our own sinful nature, satan and eternal death.

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God, Son of the Heavenly Father.  He is also true man, who became flesh through the virgin birth.  He came into the world to be our Savior from sin and its eternal consequences.  This He accomplished by dying on the cross in our place.  After He had been buried, He arose three days later.  Having ascended into Heaven, He now holds authority over all things in heaven and on earth.  He will return to earth to judge the living and the dead, granting eternal life to all who believe in Him.

We believe the Holy Spirit is God.  He performs the work of conversion, turning people from self-centered existence to Christ-centered living.  Being filled with the Holy Spirit, believers have been given authority over sin and spiritual forces of evil.  In addition, the Holy Spirit equips believers with everything necessary to make us worthy ministers of the Gospel, to walk in Christ’s footsteps and to live according to the Word of God.  Spiritual gifts are to be earnestly desired and utilized by the church in all ages.  The Holy Spirit instructs, guides, ministers, and sanctifies. He rules over heaven and earth with the same authority as the Father and Son.
